L6 student successful in Michael Grandage audition

Sixth Form student Ella McLeod has won a place in the prestigious Michael Grandage Company’s youth theatre, MGC Futures. Ella is one of twenty young people involved in this fledgling mirror company working alongside the Michael Grandage Company, during its West End season at the Noel Coward Theatre. This season’s productions include Jude Law in Henry V, Judy Dench in Peter and Alice, Daniel Radcliffe in The Cripple of Inishmaan and David Walliams in A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

MCG Futures aims to give 15 to 25 year olds experience of West End theatre. Ella, aged 16, was selected from over 200 applicants and 60 auditions. She will have the opportunity to experience all activities connected to MGC’s West End productions and with the Futures Company’s own productions including acting, directing, writing, technical roles such as sound and lighting, designing and stage management. Members of the youth theatre will be mentored by professionals, including MGC’s executive producer James Bierman.

Ella is naturally delighted: ‘I am incredibly excited to be part of the Futures Company, and looking forward to the next year, meeting every week to do something I am passionate about. I am particularly interested in acting and writing and will get the opportunity to develop both’.
