The Junior School celebrates Roald Dahl's Birthday

13 September 2013
Junior pupils celebrate Roald Dahl day in a Roald Dahl way

Around every corner and on every staircase, visitors to the Junior School on Friday 13th September met Willie Wonka, an Oompa Loompa, Matilda – and even Miss Trunchball (also known as Miss Liz Astley, the Junior School Head). Pupils from Nursery to Year 6 at Streatham & Clapham Junior School celebrated Roald Dahl’s birthday (13th September 1916) on Roald Dahl Day dressing up as characters from a wide range of his books. Each older girl brought in her own favourite Roald Dahl book which she shared with a younger pupil at reading time.

Matilda, who said you should never do anything by halves, and the author himself, would surely have approved!
