Early Years

We have a detailed and insightful understanding of children’s needs and pay close attention to their welfare and safety. We offer a bright and stimulating environment where learning is fun, each day is exciting and all are welcomed and valued. The involvement of parents in their child’s learning is actively encouraged. We carefully monitor the progress of each child, give extra support where necessary and communicate regularly with the pupils’ homes.

Our Creative Days allow the girls to come together to take part in art, drama and other hands-on activities. For example, children write invitations, make party hats, bake cakes, and bring in their bears to play games at a Teddy Bears’ Picnic. Other activities include trips to museums and farms, visits from the fire brigade, and drama shows and workshops, as well as many performances to parents.

The classrooms and outdoor areas are spacious, bright and inviting, and have many exciting opportunities for pupils to develop their physical, social, emotional and intellectual skills through a wide range of activities. Nursery and Reception pupils enjoy their own purpose-built outdoor area with a matted floor, a climbing frame and a nature area, including a mud kitchen, a bug city and plenty of potted plants in the grassy area.

Ours is a culture in which pupils become interested, motivated independent thinkers and learners from a very early age. We help them develop their own strengths, with encouragement rather than pressure, so they enter Year 1 with high levels of attainment and a real and a real excitement in their learning.
